Tom Hallion, the 1B umpire in the Rangers-Giants game tonight. How he could call Teixeira's line drive down the first base line a foul ball is beyond me. There was chalk in the air from where the ball hit the line. The game should have at least been tied.
Not that HP umpire Larry Young was doing any better at his job tonight of calling balls and strikes. This was the absolute worst called game by a crew of umpires that I can ever remember seeing. That crew ought to be fired for such a badly called game. :grouchy :grouchy :grouchy :grouchy

Ya know, if I made a grievous error like that at work, I'd be fired!! I live in CA, but am a lifelong Rangers fan (yeahhh, it's been a tough life!!!!) and I have a big satellite dish that I can pick up Tom and Josh when Rangers are on Ch. 27 or Ch. 4 ... I also have the Extra Innings package on DirecTV so I can see other games as well. Well, when that play happened, I was watching Tom and Josh on my big dish, and of course, they were going nuts. I got curious as to what the Giants announcers were saying, so I turned it over there and even THEY were admitting they got lucky. How can everyone at home and everyone at the ballpark BUT the umps see that ball kick up chalk??? AMAZING!!!!
And talk about bad -- how about Bill Welke last week --- he's the guy that called Matthews out to start the bottom of the ninth on a close bang-bang play at first and then calls Teixeira's blast foul. Admittedly, two tough calls because Tex's ball was hit sooooo high, but still, they both go against the Rangers. And then the joker moves to home plate the next night and in the first inning calls Michael Young out at home plate when replays showed he was safe.
What in the world is going on here??????????????????

discriminating umpires i suppose lol. I dont know but im tired of the umps calling bad against the rangers. I guarantee that loss last night will be looked at at the end of the season.
