At first Eaton was only suppose to be out a month. Where is he and how much longer is he going to be out of the rotation?

Getting on a schedule: Right-hander Adam Eaton is targeting July 26 for making his Rangers debut. Eaton is on the DL recovering from surgery to reconstruct a torn pulley tendon in his right middle finger.

Eaton revealed some tentative dates to his rehab schedule, including the first possible date he could pitch for the Rangers. That would be July 26 against New York. All the plans are extremely tentative since Eaton has not even started throwing breaking pitches. Eaton has twice injured the finger in the last two years and both times, the torque from throwing breaking balls was thought to be a root cause.

Eaton will throw breaking pitches for the first time Tuesday and would throw a simulated game July 2. If he completes those steps without issue, Eaton would begin a rehab assignment July 6. That would give him an opportunity to make four starts in the minors.

"It's good to have framework," Eaton said. "I've always focused on July, but it's good to see that on a calendar. The throwing program we've been on has maybe been a little slower than I'd like, but it's a very just plan."

okay, so we need to play some hardcore ball for a month to hang with the A's, then Eaton better come back better than ever.
