anyone catch the devils/ braves game tonight(saturday)? It's the retro jerseys, I like the braves jerseys but what is up with tampa's? it says Tarpons.
Anyone know?

Skip Caray said that there was a team in the farmsystem for the red's called the Tampa Bay Tarpons. About 20 years ago. So that is the best they got :D.

yes i did and it was refreshing to see a rays starter not named kazmir pitching very well...hopefully he will stick around for awile!!!

Each year the Rays have a turn back the clock night. They honor a different team that played in the Tampa Bay area. Last year they honored a team that played in the black leagues many years ago.With such a short history they don't have many other choices. This gives the fans a chance to see some of the uniforms of long ago.
