View Full Version : Schuerholz cares more about book than Braves?

I have been seeing this argument a lot more lately. There is a school of thought out there that, I believe, genuinely says that Schuerholz cares more about book sales of his new book Built To Win than helping the Braves organization. This idea has seemed, to me, to gain some steam during this disastrous 19 of 22 and nine-game losing streak. Not one single trade has been made. Not one. To me, this is not proof. To them, it is.

I do not think so low of Mr. Schuerholz to believe that he is thinking of dollar signs from his book sales while the Braves are losing 19 of 22 and nine straight.

There was a quote recently from Schuerholz where he said, in effect, "a lot of teams have my number on their desk to call me back."

In essence, it's not that that he hasn't been trying to pull off some trades, but rather that not many teams are ready to deal this far before the deadline before they know where they stand.

Besides, Schuerholz is probably fairly well-to-do and doesn't really need sales of his book to skyrocket in order to put food on the table :p .

I would have to say so, too. I'm guessing that all those people are going on is appearance. They're using the book as a scapegoat. I would like to bet that if the Braves were playing .500 ball, and not .136 ball (3-19), this argument wouldn't even be around.

This is genius. Let's turn on one of the two guys most responsible for the Braves success for the last 15 years.
