To Kansas City, along with Fernando Cortes for J P Howell, a former first round pick in 2004. We can always use pitching, and Gathright has nothing going for him but speed. And since he was hitting .201, he wasn't getting on base to utilize his one asset. His arm is weak, I can remember him 2 bouncing a throw to home plate trying to throw out 39 year old Jeff Conine. Rays officials project Howell as a possible rotation guy with the major league club. We'll see.
