Now the mets are a good side, and whilst i'd like to think philly could avoid a sweep against them they couldn't manage it. However last night they looked so bad against TB, TB!!!!!!!!!! for heavens sake! Something needs to happen, when are we gonna turn this around?, plus we dropped under .500 last night.

This is what needs to happen....

1st) Charlie Manuel needs to be fired NOW
2nd) Abreu, Burrell, Rollins need to be traded this year
3rd) Lieberthal, Bell, Lieber, and most of the bullpen are not to be resigned, and should be attempted to be traded.
4th) Keep Utley, Rowand, Howard, Victorino, Myers, Hamels, Madson, Gordon, Matheison, and Cormier.
5) Sign another solid number two guy to go with Myers, but a true number one via trade or sign would be even better.
6) Hire Bobby Valentine, and bring back Larry Bowa to be the bench coach, Dick Allen or Mike Schmidt (although he's managing down in florida for them) to be hitting coach, and bring in someone like Steve Carlton to be pitching coach.
7th) Get young position players/pitchers with a lot of promise for Burrell, Abreu, and Rollins, and sign some younger guys
8th)Bring up Carlos Ruiz and let him PLAY, he's going to be the catcher next season unless they trade for one, or sign one, which is unlikely, so bring him up now so he's better next year.
9th) Hope Gavin Floyd's good starts back in AAA arent a fluke, and hope he can be solid for us in the Starting rotation.
10) BEAT TEAMS IN OUR DIVISION
11) WIN THE DIVISION
12)WIN THE SERIES

just becuase I have a gomes name means nothing, Jonny Gomes is my favorite player, but the Phillies will always be my team, theyre the team I grew up watching, and the team I will always cheer for....I live in PA, I bleed red, well I guess everyone does haha...I love the Phils and bringing up that I have a Gomes Sig and name means nothing in regards to what I think Gillick could or should do, c'mon Potato, youre a Phils fan just like me.....why have Rollins when he's considered our lead off guy and when he gets up he swings for the fences? Abreu, sure he hits, but how many runs has he allowed from being lazy and lackluster on defense?

One....Rollins is misplaced but a great guy, very good defensive SS and a sparkplug....he just needs to hit lower

Two, Abreu is not the MAN, he never will be, but he is a great guy that works counts and gets on base so guys like Howard can hit him in, and his defense doesn't costs as many runs with Rowand out there (although Rowand has gotten worse since his wall crash)

Burrell needs to go because Victorino IS that guy who could leadoff and Pat is just a DH in waiting...his legs and back make him a terrible liability in the OF...he has a good eye, so Burrell for a 3rd baseman..that's it, now you just wait to see what club falls and wanst to get rid of a 3rd baseman...the A's and Chavez perhaps

ive been sayin that this Victorino is a player who could be outstanding at the leadoff position. And if the Phils were to get an eric chavez, I'd be happy. New Plan, get those bums in the bullpen outta there. Were too streaky offensivly....Hamels pitched great, but alas no runs,:grouchy . O well.. Potato, do you agree Charlie must go and he will go by next season?

As for the bullpen, they are misused...not terrible, Cormier is a nice Lefty specialist, Fultz can work some innings and nothing is wrong with Rhodes...his history has shown he stinks against the Yankees but he has been ok with Inherited runners scored and Gordon's curve is lethal when its on

We need a good couple of righties in the pen though

Franklin needs to go definanatly, but as far as managers, Bobby Valentine would be pretty sweet to see in Philly.
