I've tried my best to learn the high level swing and it continues to be a work in progress. In the meantime, I need to help me girls become better bunters.
Do y'all subscribe to the theory that the top elbow should be "locked out"? Does anyone has some good techique advise for the novice, or a place to read more?
Thanks,
Michael

I'll assume you mean a straight sacrifice bunt. The facts from college coaches I've heard are fairly similar with their approaches. Whatever on feet not much difference (square or pivot stance). Different grips same thing, whichever the player is most comportable with e.g pinch grip, handshake grip etc...
Key aspect though include: Batter must see the barrel and see the ball. If she sets bat at waist on an upright stance then her succes will be diminished. So, crouch to have the view of bat and ball. Enquist once said at a clinic I was at that among the most important aspects to complete the successful sac bunt was to the "see it down" , meaning follow it from impact to the ground with your eyes.
So...see the bat, see the ball and see it down!
