He looks absolutely FILTHY tonight. It's like he's playing nintendo on easy.
Unreal. Just happy to watch it right now.

And on a side note Mr. Schilling isn't doing too shabby either...

I appreciate greatness when I see it. Tonight is vintage Pedro type stuff. Amazing.

Veritek just got lucky and went deep but this sox fan is giving Santana a standing O for tonight. :clapping :clapping :clapping

Are you angry santana gave a up home run?

Lol I appreciate great performances as well but I wouldnt be as happy as you are if it was against my favorite team.

"Oh YAAY get 2809125927316 strikeouts and pitch a perfect game against my favorite team" says the red sox fan.

Not angry so much as disappointed, actually I think Crisp's bunt was more disruptive to Santana as it seemed to break his rhythm and get him out of strike out mode.

The Sox are going to lose anywhere from 60 to 80 games a season. I'll gladly take one of those L's in exchange for seeing a truly dominating spectacular performance from start to finish.

(Unless its the Yankees)

Game Notes
With his 8th strike out of the game, in the top of the 4th inning, Twins pitcher Johan Santana recorded his 1000th career strike out.
Tied in the 11th.

Johan fanned the first 5 batters. Oh yeah, the 6th guy flied out. :p

After Boston scored 1 run in the top of the 12th, Minnesota has the bases loaded, 1 out. A hard single wins or ties it; a DP loses it for them.

Kubel homered to center, Cuddyer, Morneau and Hunter scored.

That's it!

I hope Julian Tavarez gets released tomorrow and then has the mother of all stomach flu's on the plane ride home.

Since Paps went 2 scoreless innings, who was available in the 12th that wasn't used?

Reed Johnson

Seanez, DelCarmen, Riske, VanBuren

DelCarmen and VanBuren would have been my two choices.

Oh I thought you didnt mind losing a game, to watch some "greatness". "I'll gladly take one of those L's in exchange for seeing a truly dominating spectacular performance from start to finish" the red sox fan said.

Roy31, are you trying to start fights? Not a good idea.

Losing to brilliance like Santana's is one thing. Scratching out a lead in extras only to see an incompetent like Tavarez blow it is disgusting.

I agree that Delcarmen and VanBuren would have been preferable to Tavarez. I saw a flat skunk in the road today who would be preferable to Tavarez.

Consider yourself fortunate you'd posted this at 12:01am ET, since at 12:55am ET in the Red Sox forum, I'd given you a very strong warning. Any baiting of Red Sox fans here about their players and/or their team's loss of a game will also affect your account status.

Please watch your words, and as stated earlier, you have been fully warned, so any words posted on your part shouldn't lead to your surprise as to actions taken on my part. :)

You know Matt its my fault too for opening my big yap and making the "greatness" statement in the first place. I ment what I said about it but would have been much more enjoyable had Santana struck out Tek and the next 6 hitters after him to win, 1-0 than have Tavarez the human gascan come in and blow it in craptastic, ultra aggrivating fashion. But hey its nothing that 20 minutes with the heavy bag couldn't cure.;)

No hard feelings to Roy31 btw as I saw it as some good natured ribbing.

He's sleezy. He plays here in DR for my most hated team (besides the Yankees), the Cibao Eagles. Hate him with all my heart. And BTW, he looks like Freddie.

If you think no lines were crossed, then I'd strongly advise you not to keep crossing those lines.

Your idea of not crossing lines may not necessarily equate to mine. All I can advise you is to stop posting negatively in the Boston forum for awhile, since you insist upon rubbing their noses into the dirt whenever they lose. Granted, I'm a Yankee fan, so it's natural for me to cheer a Boston loss, but at least I have the tact not to do so in their own forum, as you've done with bravado.

I'm not interested in issuing any further warnings, and if I haven't explained myself fully enough, despite having addressed various issued in plain English, then I can't help you.

No problem. I just saw it as continuing his comments to Red Sox fans. Only some fans are allowed to enjoy themselves here, while others get the back of the hand? I've had this done to me as a Yankee fan and trust me, it's no fun.

We'll see how Roy31 handles my various comments. The proof will be in the puddin', and that's all I'm looking at right now.
