Anyone remember Bitsy Mott?

Elisha Matthew (Bitsy) Mott played one season with the Philadelphia Phillies, primarily as a shortstop but also served at second and third base. He went 64 for 289 at the plate, with 8 doubles, no triples or home runs, hitting for a .221 average.

Mott's professional career, spanned three decades, though. He began playing minor league ball in 1939 for Americus in the class D Georgia-Florida League and retired after playing 1957 for Tampa in the Florida State League. He also did some managing in there.

I remember 'Bitsy mott'! He was Quite a ball-player! How are you familiar with his name?

He also played for the 1945 Phillies. An infielder - He didn't have the talent to stick in the majors after players returned from military service after WWII for the 1946 season.

Just kind of wanted to know who was interested, he past away some years ago, I am his grand-daughter and he may have been a hero to his fans......he was a great grandad,but he made great mistakes when it came to family, i will never embarass my dad or my mema but he was not that moral! Thanx for seeing the great in him cause my mema did,my dad did, and still no matter what i can !
