There is a rumor going around that there is a deal in the works. Carl Crawford for Ervin Santana. Santana is 24 years old, 5 and 3 on the season, era 4.32, whip 1.16, 18 bb vs 51 so. What do you think guys? Good or bad trade if its true.

I heard that the Devil Rays are waiting for a really outstanding offer....and they are close to getting it. I think the D-Rays would want more for Crawford, i'd like to know who else that the Angels are considering probably in double A or maybe even triple A. I think santana has great potential...but is somewhat inconsistant, which is expected of a young pitcher. Him and Kazmir make the rotation a lot more scary for opposing teams.

The only thing trading Crawford woul accomplish is create even more empty seats at Tropicana Field.

D-Rays arent going to get anything much better than Ervin Santana for him. I'd take it Ervin looks promising and the D-Rays could use another stud pitcher.

Bad Deal....Rays need a bit more than a young stud...Even so, bad trade...

I agree, Santana has pitched well , but so far he is a six and seven inning pitcher. The Rays have pitchers who can do that. Right now their problem has been the 7th and 8th inning. I just don't think you can trade one of the best young players in baseball and one that is still improving.Now if they could get Santana for Delmon Young, I would make that trade in an instant. Crawford has already proven himself, Young has all the talent in the world but hasn't proven anything.

might be an interesting trade...and it might make sense to move young
to another org..he's in the Tampa dog house.....but on the flip, it might make more sense for the D-RAYS, to hold on to their young future talent..and groom them..look at both the Tribe and Tigers...held on.and the dividends
are finally beginning to pay off..
