I don't know what version of vBulletin we're running here (seems like 3.5.0) but there was a problem with the way the PM "receipt" feature was wroking in the Safari browser. Can somebody fix this as it doesn't work properly for me. Would aprreciate it:

Here is how to fix it: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=997909&postcount=9

So you sent a PM to somebody, but they never sent a reply PM acknowledging receipt of the one you'd sent them? Did they in fact send a reply, or was this reply cancelled by themselves?

You send a PM and ask for a "receipt"...when the recipient tries to "OK" the receipt, the popup window will not go away in the Safari browser and you have to quit the program to get rid of it and start over again.

It's a bug in the first version of vBulletin 3.5.0...the fix is easy but requires some code changes in the link I supplied! ;)

I think we need the Webmaster to chime in here.

Who is he and where is he?

Sean is the Admin/site owner, but is unfortunately away for a little while. Darren is his right hand man, the 2nd Admin here.

If you can do without a receipt, or simply ask the recipient if they've received the PM, that may have to suffice for now.

I'm not sure how this code change will affect the others using Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc, so in the meanwhile, are there any fixes available to the browser you're using?

In fact, in later versions of vB 3.5 that fix has been incorporated by the vB developers.

Anyway, thanks for the information. Actually the real answer is that this forum should definitely be upgraded to vB 3.5.4! ;)

When Sean, our site creator, owner and webmaster ("webmaster" is his username) returns, I'll pass this onto him. Since he's the one who takes care of software upgrades and fixes, he'd be the one taking care of this. Just be patient and we'll get around to this.

Thx. :)

You can pm him if you need something. He's always doing things in regards to the upkeep of the site. Baseball Fever is just a part of the Baseball Almanac Family.
