View Full Version : Choose Your Player

This is that game where you have to choose between which two players you'd want and state a short reason why you made that choice. Then after you answer select two players for the next person to choose from. I'll get us going:

Roger Clemens or Randy Johnson?

I know that. Only A's fans ignore that truth.

Hafner, he scares me more.

Jose Vidro or Brian Roberts.

Jose Vidro- good, solid batter for AVG. good contact and rarely Ks out, with decent 2B power. Plus on a sunny day, his shades are cool :D

Interesting. I would have chosen Freel, since Figgins is having such a slow, slow start. But, Figgins is on my fantasy team, so I'm hoping he turns it around, and soon!

Rios by a mile; just as good power, better AVG, decent speed, seems to K out less than 1/2 the time Shelton does.

Konerko of Hafner?

Zito is more than overrated. He is the recipient of the most laughably bad Cy Young in the 50-year history of that award.

This is what the French call an idee fixe with me, but you know, I really don't care how much sportswriters hate Pedro Martinez. I live in Northern California, and the fact remains that giving Zito the award over Pedro that year transcended preposterousness and raised real questions of corruption.

Now that the guy is a "former Cy Young Award winner," he has this air of legitimacy as a star that he simply does not deserve.

I'm going to go with Ichiro. Everyone who said he was going to get slower and less able to pull off those infield hits this season should notice that right now he has about 20 more hits than anybody in the mlb. He is just now starting to get results from his pitching because he is getting used to the league. He is also a better than average hitter who has been clutch.
