Anyone tape the swing of the kid who took Clemens yard in Lexington last night? Looked pretty impressive to me at full speed. Maybe a little like Ensberg only with a smaller radius?

I watched him in the San Diego CIF finals last year. He went to Rancho Bernardo and was taken by my Indians in the supplemental first. Before moving to Cali, I used house Indians Minor Leaguers back in Ohio, (NY Penn League - Mahoning Valley) and saw one of my former housemates, whiff against Roger.
Anyway I didn't film it, but last year in the finals you could clearly see Drennan's swing was a step above everyone else's on the field. He was already signed with UCLA, but I think Cleveland got him for around 750-1 Mill signing bonus. The kid is all hustle, sprinting on and off the field. I noticed his HR trot wasn't exactly slow. He is 19, and will move quickly through the organization if you ask me. He struggled at rookie ball but is now getting into a groove.

I agree, but I figured his hustle on the home run trot was so hopefully Roger wouldn't drill him next time up. ;)

I saw it live Mark. Hell of a cut. He put a perfect swing on that ball. The announcer said it was very " J. D. Drew like" I agree.
He did show great class running the bases quickly and not looking at Clemens.

Class and or self preservation. If I hit a dinger off Roger I'd put my head down and sprint around the bases too. ;) Seriously, he did it the right way and I really really liked the swing.
