Reading the affadavit shows that this is more than a slap on the wrist for players now. It makes the suspensions look weak. Grimsley had been under surveillance, they had canceled checks, they had a search warrant and put him under heavy questioning "downtown". He must have been pretty unnerved and scared by the whole process. Ballplayers are used to being coddled and taken care of. Grimsley is on his own and fighting alone now. He won't be playing for any organization after his testimony exposes others. I'll bet his career is done.
If this incident doesn't scare the heck out of everyone taking HGH or Illegal enhancement substances, then they deserve whatever they get. No one wants to wear the Scarlet Letter but now Grimsley joins Palmiero in that very public group. Who's next? I guess we'll find out soon.

Grimsley asks for and gets release from D-Backs (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2474291)

Meanwhile, 13 federal agents searched his house:

Grimsley reportedly admitted to illicit drug use (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2473485)

As of yet there isn't a reliable test. But, I'm sure they are working on one.

Let's see: a pitcher breaks and spills his guts.
We could be talking about Grimsley and then
again we could be talking about Eddie Cicotte.

There's nothing new under the sun!

Isn't Jason Girmsley the one who broke into the umpire room and switched a cork Albert Belle bat with a regular bat at Tiger Staduim I believe.

Grimsley's naming of names could turn out ot be very anti-climactic, considering he's had teammates such as Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, and Jose Canseco. However, he was also teammates with Roger Clemens, whose name has always been thrown around as a possible PED-user. Any legal experts know when we can expect to hear those names?

Also, another little tidbit... Jason Grimsley was once traded for Curt Schilling.

And how much weight can we give to his names? Guys he saw using? Guys he thinks used? 'Cause anyone can say who they thought used, even ballplayers. Can he give more proof than suspicion?

FWIW, and it may not be much, Krukker said grimsley is not a guy who would just rat a guy out to rat a guy out, implying that it would only be to players he knew to be hgh'ers. but as i stated, thats Kruk.

Jayson Stark had a good piece on it for ESPN. one of his few you actually dont need the damned insider for.

This is sad, is the usual "If I go down, Ill make sure other will go down with me", and now that is career is finished, now what he faces is a Federal Trial, and see what happens.

i expect that if grimsley actually comes forth with names of players he *knows firsthand* to have used on specific occasions (but i seriously doubt it) the names will be of the non-shocking type.

the feds by now more than likely know more of the specific what-nots of grimsley than grimsley himself.

From my understanding, you can't test for HGH with a urine test. Seeing as the urine test is all that is allowed per collective bargining, in MLB it seems as no they can't. For that matter though, a blood test can at times give a false positive.
