we are well into the season and it times to analize the moves we have made this offseason. ramon hernandez can we say enough good things about this guy. he never wants a day off, never wants to be out of the lineup. all the talk about him calling a good game is true. his bat he has been productive wherever we bat him. slugging over .500, batting over .300 and has 46 rbis. im not complaining. he is on pace to set career highs in rbis and batting average. he has thrown out 23 runners and is over 50 percent of throwing out runners.

corey patterson- on pace to get close to 80 sb's, can play any of position when needed and his bat is coming around. hitting over .270 he can really help the bottom half of the lineup and get on base for the top 3. when he is on base he is almost unstoppable. what i love the most about him is his defensive skills. he is very good with the glove and has a very underrated arm.

kris benson- he has been the most consistent of all the guys in the rotation. his era is over 4 but he is working into the 6th on most of his starts. working with leo mazzone is helping and it seems he is really improving every outing. i like the addition of him, espically considering who we gave up to get him. his so's are low but he has never been a high k guy. his walks are kinda high wouldnt mind seeing them go down a little bit, but i like his veteran presence in a young rotation.

kevin millar- ive been pretty dissapointment. his defensive skills arent what i thought they were and his bat has really dropped off, he is batting 40 points below his career average. his clubhouse presence what we brought him in for hasnt been anything special. he has leaked more to the media then anyone. but when you have no one else to play 1b who you going to put in there.

jeff conine- a true clubhouse house who can play the corner of positions and 1b when needed. he is hitting well under 50 points of his career average. he is a nice guy but he is taking up a roster spot for a young guy. i know he wants to end his career in baltimore but jeff has got to go.

latroy hawkins- era is ok and has been ok out of the bullpen. he can close if needed in a emergency situation and is a veteran in a young bullpen. hey what can you say about a relief pitcher.

Overall,I think the O's have to be pleased with their acquisitions.

Some have started slowly but are contributing more lately (Millar and Hawkins). Millar is a professional hitter and always seems to end up with pretty good numbers.

This may be Conine's last year but it's nice to have him end his career in Baltimore. He was a steady player on some bad Oriole teams.

I hope that Benson will become steadier and end up as the staff ace. He has the stuff and experience to win more than 15 games. He's been Ok so far

Hernandez and Patterson have been great. Their performances have to be more that the team expected at this point. Hopefully they can keep it up throughout the entire season.

Patterson has been great. His SB numbers are off the charts and to be honest outside of his weak throwing arm, you couldn't ask for more from a CF. He's got range, speed and makes great defensive plays.

Ramon is a catching king! He made one or two blunders...but he's great. I love how the Yankees tried to run on us (remembering how horrible Javy is) and ran into Ramon's dead on acurate throw. :clapping

Millar and Hawkins could us a little bit of work. I'd like to see Millar put up better numbers. His two back to back HRs helped but Hawkins could be pitching better.
