A SAD GOODBYE: Erwin "Erv" Fischer, historian for the Cardinals' Hall of Fame Museum, passed away today, June 6, at his home in Florissant. He was 80...Erv worked for the Cardinals for 14 years, lending his baseball knowledge to interpret the historical displays at the museum...in 2003, he arranged for his
considerable holding of Cardinals memorabilia to be acquired for the permanent collection of the museum...he was an active member of the Society For American Baseball Research and the St. Louis Browns Fan Club...he joined the Cardinals after his retirement from the insurance business...he is survived by his wife, Rita, and his children Judy, Mary Jo, Jim and Joan, and five grandchildren.
