Top pick at #9
William "The Thrill" Rowell
Upside: Great pick of the draft for the O's, he's young, he's got power like Pujols, and great fielding range.
Downside: Very tall (6' 6") for a 3B, Inconsistent sometimes when it comes to pressure plays, lacks a bit of push hitting.

We picked up 4 SS (one will play 3B and one will play 2B...the other two are going to play SS) today. I'm assuming that they (I haven't pulled their stats yet) have some hitting skills...and the goal was looking at the age of our middle infield.
Not sure how I feel about this move overall yet....
One of the reporters covering the O's (sorry, forgot which one) stated that the team may convert Rowell to 1B. But these players won't see MLB action until several years down the road (if at all)--our incumbent infielders needn't worry.

Interesting. 1B? I thought they were looking at him for 3B. I'd like to see us get a power 1B. Anyway...we'll need to find someone for 1B if Millar doesn't start putting numbers up.

Maier wasn't drafted and neither was that kid who tarnished Little League baseball's image, Danny Almonte (Married to a 30-year old... LOL.. AND HE'S ONLY 19. Lord that's TOO OLD)
Maier will get an undrafted rookie contract with someone.
