Hi there,
I am not a huge baeball fan.
But as a kid I was pretty fond of the sport.
I lived in Newark New York for a period.
My Dad worked or played with the Co-Pilots (not sure which) and he got a baseball signed with the team of the 1969 Co-Pilots.
I have kept it all these years and always wonderd about it as to whether any signatures were any stars or any one of noteriety.
I was looking around in storage boxes and came across the ball again. I got on Google and found this forum.
Thought it a good place to ask for information.
Thanks loads,

These two webpages contain 1969 Newark Co-Pilots statistics - batting and pitching respectively.

Alas, it looks that none of those players was of any notoriety.

Thanks so much!
I have always been curious.
Don't know what we did without the internet.
Anything you want or need is here!
Again, thanks for filling me in on my childhood curiosity.

The Newark Co-Pilots were a Class "A", short-season affiliate of the Seattle Pilots, and then the Milwaukee Brewers, in the New York-Penn League. In 1970, after the Seattle Pilots moved on very short notice to Milwaukee, the team retained the Co-Pilots name. (It probably sounded more asthetically pleasing than "Co-Brewers. ;) )

Your best bet, to see if any of these gentlemen ever made the big leagues, would be to check out some Milwaukee Brewers rosters from the early and mid-1970's.

Courtesy of Baseball-Almanac, try this link, scroll to the bottom and click on some of the years I've mentioned to check out the Milwaukee Brewers rosters to see if you recognize any of the names.

Back in the late 1960s/early 1970s I used to visit my maternal grandparents in Jamestown, NY and would regularly attend Jamestown Falcons games. I may still have some old scorecards packed away somewhere. I do remember attending at least one game against Newark in 1970 and remarking that they hadn't changed their name yet.

When did Newark last have a team in the NY-Penn League?

An acquaintance of mine played for the 1969 copilots---Bob Green. Is his name on your ball? If so might this ball be for sale?

The last team to play in Newark(NYPENN League) was the Orioles in the mid 80's. Steve Finley was the last "great" ball player to come out of Newark.

The Newark Co-Piots of 1973 had a future baseball hall of famer on the team. He went up to the big leagues the next year. Had a brillent career with the Mil. Brewers..............I'll let someone else name this player....

As far as I know no player on the 1969 Co-Pilots went on to be a baseball hall of famer. However Robin Yount played for the 1973 Newark Co-Pilots.
