the one good thing us o's fan have to look forward to is how we have the majority of the key players locked up. ramon has three years after this year so does mora. gibbons is locked up through for another four years, roberts will hopefully be locked up really soon. tejada has 4 years remaining on his contract. looking around the majors thats a nice combo of players and leadership and we have some young arms looking to be up int he majors soon. we just need to go and get some pitching i mean is it that hard to realize pitching wins games. its great if you can score 6 runs a game but when your staff gives up 8 thats doesnt do anything

You know what, woody, That's pretty good. We just need an owner who will buy pitching.

The pitching dept. for Free Agency this year is very weak tho.

The future does look brighter for this team than a number of others out there--but for talk of locking up players I'm surprised Melvin Mora still hasn't been extended.

Also, I anticipate free agency for pitching will be weak every year for a while. The great or even very good pitchers of this generation (Clemens, Maddux, Johnson, Martinez, Glavine, Schilling, Mussina... is Brown retired yet?) are all very close to retirement, and I don't believe the new blood has established itself yet.

Uh... JW Melvin's already been extended. 3 years, $24 million.

Well, that's some egg on my face O's fan:

May 19th... I was working overtime that week... yeah, that's it :D... so, the core would be intact for several years to come.

Please...with all the things going on in baseball...can't be responsible for knowing everything. Trying to keep up with all the baseball information gives me a headache sometimes. :atthepc
