Pricey Free agents

I was thinking of some of the pricey free agents ,that the club was
soooo hot to pact with..like Sexson, Beltran, who both joined Seattle
for mega bucks..and at the moment, both are stanking badly in
Seattle..both are hitting around .211 or so..with only a couple of
dingers and RBI's..and both have excessive whiffs...That former
Dodgers 3rd sacker, looks like he's gonna get run outta town..soon..

also Palvano ( mis spell ) the former Marlins ace, who DD & the Tigers
wanted badly..ended up in NEW YORK, and hasn't done a lick..for all
those millions...being hurt and all...The YANKEES can absorb misfires
like him.and eat that contract...while smaller market teams like Detroit
can be burned badly...Heck, some of these guys are a monster crap
shoot...sheeesh....

Yeah, I'm really glad we didn't sign Adrian Beltre. He had one fantastic contract year, got his bucks, and is slacking off again. Come the last year of this deal he's on, he'll put up great numbers again. It sucks, but many players need that money as motivation to play hard. Carl Pavano, who I lobbied hard for, is injured and probably out until fall, at best. After we struck out on signing him, we nearly traded for him. I'm pretty glad we didn't do that either. It's also a good thing we didn't go after that other Florida kid, AJ Burnett. Close calls. Too bad nobody outbid us for Todd Jones.
