Hi Guys.... I'll try it again with a different title.

I'm running our local Pepsi Pitch Hit and Run tournament.
Scoring is as follows:
1. Pitching = hitting a 17" X 45" target from 45'
2. Running = Speed around a bag (160')
3. Hitting = Distance and accuracy off a tee.

I have never taught distance off a tee. The players that made it last week will moving to the sectionals at Dodd Stadium (CT Defenders - AA). I told the kids that we would conduct a practice Saturday, the day before the Sectionals. Any ideas on how to teach distance off a tee??

I don't need discussion on why Pepsi chose this method. I feel there would be better ways to measure a player's ability to hit a baseball.

Hope you can help...

Not sure if this will help, but seems to me that applying rotational mechanics to a stationary target like a tee will produce the greatest pop. I use a tee so much in training my team that we've gone through two so far this season. (any tips on durable tees?) Hitting off a tee, with a coach's help, gives kids a chance to adjust their pcr to maximize the impact they can have on a ball.

Thanks I'll try that this evening...

Yellow JUGGS tee. It is pretty expensive (around $75) but they cannot be broke!
