It is an odd thing seeing Mike Maroth miss games, but what troubles me is where he has gone to seek medical advice. The doctor he is seeing is the same one that took care of Nate Cornejo, and Troy Percival. Is anybody else worried about him seeing a doctor whose last 2 notable patients are now no longer in baseball? Ok, I am not sure if Cornejo is gone or not? But you get my point?

I think the Tigers should send Spurling back down and bring up Sanchez. <shrugs> Just my 2 cents.

DR. Frankenstein ?
ok, bad joke...That is an interesting point..and certainly does not bod well
for Maroth's recovery and career....but his injury, proves that YOU CAN NEVER
have ENOUGH good pitching...heck, last year there was talk of dealing him
after the season...but I always sort of knew, with a better attitude and
break, with a better club behind him, Maroth would prove to be a great asset
to any club..especially one like the Young and hungry Tigers..mixed with
older pitchers ( who took their lumps ) and younger guys, learning the ropes
in the show..Hopefully, he'll be back...and hopefully, someone either from
Erie or Toledo will step up..and help fill his shoes....

I would agree with that - saw Sanchez again last night - about the 3rd or 4rth time ive seen him pitch this year - he is ready at least for AAA - even when Sanchez doesn't ahve his great stuff he is still one of the better pitchers in the league....

It seems as though they made a decision...Zach Minor is getting Maroths spot in the rotation, for the time being.

I am saddened by this injury. Yes I want the Sox to bury the Tigers, but not like this. I hope Maroth heals well and quickly and has a great career.

It is not like the seasons hopes ride or even rode on Maroths preformance. The thing Maroth did was eat innings through his career. It did seem however, that the signing of Kenny Rogers helped out Maroth alot. Going into his last game (when he gave up 6 runs in a 1/3 of an inning) he was among the league leaders in ERA. He seemed to find himself, perhaps through Rogers (he did start pitching from the 3rd base side of the rubber, like Rogers). Lets hope he recovers.
That said, don't the WhiteSox have there own SP injuries?

No, other then the fact they arent pitching all that well:confused: Or not like last year. The only pitcher we have injured is a bull-penner who was hurt much of last year and wasnt expected to play this year, "Hermanson". Contreras was on the DL for 2 weeks but hes been back for two starts now.

Yeah, it was Contreras I was thinking of. I did not realize he's been back though....<shrugs> I just hope the Tigers can return that can of WHOOP those WhiteSox gave them in the home opening series in April. If Texas can do it why not the Tigers?
