wilk has proposed a new idea. instead of me posting box scores in every thread why dont we create a thread just for box scores and I will post them there? What do you all think?

JordanDL3891
07-18-2006, 01:45 PM
BOOOOOO!!!

lol, what ever floats your boat, then I would copy them and put them in my thread.

wilkerson_rulz-06
07-18-2006, 02:16 PM
Why the booing?

It saves space for BBF and it is more conveniant for YL and easier for everyone to access.

Gashouse6
07-18-2006, 02:18 PM
I don't mind the box score move. YL wouldn't have to do half as much of that box score posting. I think that will be better for the BBFTG.

I'd prefer it to be posted in my team thread but whatever. Its easy to access that way and if there all in one thread you have to go through every else's box score to find your's and that can be a hassle if your looking for one that was a while back or even if it was just a couple of game ago because he wont be able to fit all of the boxscores in one post.

AznInvasion
07-18-2006, 02:51 PM
I like the way it is currently just for my own personal convenience but I know this would be convenient for YL. Don't fix something that ain't broken!

wilkerson_rulz-06
07-18-2006, 02:58 PM
Well I think it'd help with the BBF space crisis now and it'd be easier for YL, come on guys!

space crisis? w/e

I booed because the same reason everyone else did. But I can just copy it and paste it onto my team thread.

so I vote yes for this new thread cause then yl would only have to post 10 and not 20 box scores.

But could it be in the same order or somthing?

It would be confusing to tell which day from another.

I know, put them all in 1 post.

or combined it with the daily report post.

I think that anything to help us sim faster is good. If it means putting box scores all in one thread, if it means eliminating box scores completely, I'm fine with it, as long as we can sim faster. I vote we move all the box scores to one thread and sim three game days per real day.

we need boxes to track our players. That's not a solution, how about simming three times a day and YL posts all the boxes at a time in the new thread?

3 is a lot and we dont even have 1 game simmed today.

I think the boxscores should go in the same post as the daily report.

we will still catch up with 2 a day.

No. I dealt Andy Sisco ( a promising lefty) to Boston for Pena.

Pena is young, I have no plan in trading him.

Erik Bedard
07-19-2006, 04:45 PM
I desperately needed bullpen help, so I traded Pena to Washington for Sisco. A mistake, as it has turned out. Pena is hitting .315 and Sisco has an ERA over 6.00.

I can afford to part with Julio Lugo if you add a decent reliever or top prospect.

Erik Bedard

I can imagine how much work it must be to post all of those box scores. By all means would I encourage YL to make the work easier for himself. I wouldn't mind the extra minute or two it takes to go to a seperate thread. As to the space issue debate:

Sean:

An even better suggestion is to just enjoy the site. The space issue has been resolved. We went nearly 6 years without deleting a single thread. Just taking care of that alone has put us below the terabyte mark which will keep us good for another couple years.

Here's the thread. It's on the second page.

you know what gashouse6 and I noticed, if you look at the players on his team, his team sucks overall while I have like 4 allstars and pretty good people at all pos.

What We just dont get is why my team can't win and is in 20th while he leads the NL West!

If we traded all the players on our team, he will still do better, its the STL name I think. :p

though the only place I am lagging is starters, I have Clemens (5 era) Arroyo (pretty good) Maroth & Redman (I only run 4 for Arroyo can get more starts)

I forgot to mention this but people have been asking me about how the playoffs will be structured. Since we are doing a 2 league/2 division system there will be no wildcard. YOU MUST WIN THE DIVISION TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. In the playoffs the NL East winner will play the NL West winner and the same with the AL teams.

Just a clarification on waivers and "release"

When you place a player on waivers, you must specify whether or not it's "revoccable" or "irrevocable" waivers.

Revoccable means you pay the salary, irrevocable means whoever claims that player pays the salary for you.

If you release a player, you still pay his salary.

Erik Bedard
07-23-2006, 02:42 PM
Well, I started it when I lost a bet, actually, to Zito75. It's his fault. Oh, YL's should be "Got Melky?".

YL, I'm starting to like our deal a lot more!

Thompson is up with the big club, and has been for quite a while. He's been used mostly as a pinch runner and pinch hitter. Duncan is up with the big club, is starting every day, and if you discount his 0-for-6 in the 17-inning game with TB, he's hitting well over .300. Hughes is still in AAA, but he'll probably get called up next season, when I can finally dump all my old guys and go with a totally younger look. :)

OK, I'll try and answer all the questions at once:

There are 20 teams in the league because we could barely scrape 20 GMs.

AL/NL doesn't matter; the teams play each other randomly.

You can just get your rosters from MLB.com or ESPN.com; they have them listed. Plus, your predecessor should have left them, check his team thread.

Welcome to the game!

a) It's only the beginning of July in the game

b) YL, who is currently leading the division, has to make some MAJOR salary dump moves (i.e. getting rid of Manny and A-Rod), so it could be anyone's division

c) I thought I was in second?

Yeah he does have some salary dumps to make. If I knew there would be a cap I would have selected a team that has a lower payroll. Yeah I took over second place because I beat you the last two games. Correct, let me give you an example in a recent trade of mine:

I acquired Andy Pettitte, $16 million salary for Anthony Reyes, minimum salary.
Chris and I agreed to the following terms regarding Pettitte:

WAS agree to pay $6,000,000 of LHP Andy Pettitte's remaing $16,000,000 salary, thus, STL will pay the remainder of Pettittes contract ($10,000,000)

Only $6 million counts against my cap.

The Phillies recieve:
Paul Maholm ($328,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: 4-7, 3.56 ERA
24 years old

Matt Murton (337,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: .221
24 years old

Sean Burroughs (1,500,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: .293

Jose Hernandez (850,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: .266

Jonah Bayliss (Minimum)
Prospect

Pittsburgh Recieves:
David Bell (4,700,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: .281 (Limited AB's)
33 years old

Corey Lidle (3,300,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: 4.92 ERA
34 years old

PTBNL Pat Burrell (9,750,000)
2006 BBFTG Stats: .258
29 years old (Currently injured for 100+ days)

$1,000,000 to pay for a portion of Burrell's contract.
Phillie takes on $3,365,000 to there cap. $4,365,000 if the 1,000,000 is included.
Pirates take on $17,200,000 in salary.

This was basically a salary dump for the Phillies. We got 2 young pitching prospects (Maholm, Bayliss) and Burroughs is hitting a respectable .293 which is better then Bell who makes much more then him. Murton is only 24 years old and we get rid of Burrell's big contract. Burrell is also out for 100+ days and is only hitting .258

Wilk, would you mind subbing for the Red Sox?
I'll accept.

Teams with cap money!!! This is your chance to improve your team and get all-star caliber players for next to nothing!!!

The Yankees will trade the following for good young talent:

Mike Mussina, Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon, Aubrey Huff, Jorge Posada.

Please pm me specific trade offers. Salaries cannot exceed $2 million. If you acquire one of the above players from me you MUST pay their entire salaries. I'm looking for top prospects at any position.

Willie Harris (top CF/2B prospect) for Johnny Damon. IIRC, I dealt Manny to you for your three top prospects. You're not getting them back. :p

Why are people changing their names so much? I know, I did it too, but I had a legitimate reason!

Once again, I tried to talk to him right when he signed on. He signed off a minute later and ignored me. I highly doubt he is still staying with the BBFTG. He must really be angry about the new rules or something.

Ok people!!! Hello!!! I have been busy lately so sorry if I haven't been communicating with you. The reason I am leaving this game it is stupid for all these new rules to take effect durring a season. We should either continue this season the old way, or re-start the season. You all must agree that this is way too inconsistant. And is just making this whole season an outlier compared to the ones in the future.

Please quit with IM's and PM's. You are invading my privacy and frankly I find it quite annoying. So cut it out. I hope this answers any and all of your questions.

See ya fellas.

Those changes are not in effect this season but when the season ends. The salary cap is in effect after the all-star game. Personally, I thought the game was fine the way it was but I'm just one person. But seriously if you have issues with this contact wilk. But you dont have to quit.

I was fine with it too. I honestly think the rules changes were put in place to try and keep the game exciting. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the last change. We really should try and stick with one way or another. Instead of jumping from one lilly pad to the next.

Think whatever you'd like to friend. But keep in mind that you and I have never even had a conversation with you, so to judge someone you don't even know is pretty prejudice don't ya think. Maybe I have a certain problem right now that is really bigger than this game.

I'm sorry if I came off as childish. But I just dislike getting loads of pm's etc. about this game, when I am working some important things out now. But to make judgements about someone when you have never even spoken to them online. And I'm sorry I haven't contacted you all sooner. But the times when you im'ed me my attention was diverted.

I hope this doesn't get in the way of the friends I have made here. Wilk,YL,Bedard,Francouer,Nascarfn, and Gashouse you guys are awesome!!!!:atthepc

Oh and I'm just gonna take a few days to get prepared etc. and I WILL be returning to the game.

Thanks alot fellas. You guys are awesome to have a game with.

The only problem with me trading Cole Hamel's is I dont have anyone to take his place in the rotation. He is currently injured but I would prefer to keep him so Wolf doesn't stay in the rotation.
