Ya, the Habs beat the Leafs. But it was in a shootout. I don't agree with using that as the determining factor in a game. We still got one point though...

PS: Should we stop talking about things not baseball-related? Any mod would freak if he read the last couple pages.
Ya i guess, anyway, good game.

I think it's time for a quick-sim Jod?

Internet translators sure are great, aren't they?

Now my pathetic attempt at Spanish (I didn't use a translator, and it will be painfully obvious to anyone who knows spanish):

Me llamo Dan, y me gusta besbol.

I'm some kind of linguistic genius. :laugh

Can't understand German for my life. Not at all. I had to sit in on a German class when my French teacher was sick and I was about to start laughing because it sounded like they were speaking gibberish.

That's right I think but you don;t need a comma. It'd be Me llamo Dan y me gusta besbol.

Wich is my name is Dan and I like baseball

TheKingofKings
10-15-2006, 11:55 AM
You know what guys, (Geoff and TKOK) I've had enough, sorry no offense at all, I really have, I am running this game and consumating most of my free time, which has decreased drastically due to school, I cannot do everything you ask me to!

Maybe it's time you all start being a bit more grateful to what me and YL do for this game!

I never said YOU had to do everything , Erik Bedard and somebody else where also agents and we where not necessarily asking YOU the question .

Erik Bedard
10-15-2006, 11:56 AM
Yeah... hmmm... will Mogul let us force those through? If so, I'll bring them here, if not, then we'll deal with it in the off-season.

Anyway, I'm 80% sure I'm leaving. I can't do this, the CKL, and the CPFD.

Look, it's not like the CPFD is just any other league. I'm RUNNING it, and I also have to manage school, football, and family obligations. And I can't exactly duck out of the CKL when they're having as much trouble as they are finding another member.

Richmond Hill Phoenix
10-15-2006, 12:30 PM
I will gladly take something over. I just figured that when you 3 formed the contract comittee, that you really wanted to do it. I'm not complaining about what's going on here, as I know that it's tough with school now and everything. I understand that. But it's been many months since I offered those extensions and I never officially about them. I hate to ask over and over again, but I just want an answer!

I feel the same way as AZN. I don't even know who's gonna be on my team next year.

I would be glad to take over some responsibility in this league. Not simmer though. I have no idea how YL has time for that. You are a god. (bow down)

I have a few questions/suggestions.

I am having a hard time figuring out where everything is now. Could we maybe delete some threads that aren't needed anymore? Also, there are too many stickies. Some should be removed.

How are we doing this now? All the scores are going into the "Box Scores" thread, correct?

JordanDL3891
10-17-2006, 12:30 PM
lol, I am currently writing a post in another window about things that should be stickied and what should not be stickied :D I opened up this window so I can see what is stickied and what isnt to be able to write them down, and then I saw you read my mind and posted what I was going to say before I posted it lol thats amazing! what are you? lol j/k

JordanDL3891
10-17-2006, 12:40 PM
we should change what is sticked, there is allready too much that is stickied, but heres what I think:

Currently Stickied (bold ones I say should stay stickied)

BBFTG 2006 Daily Report

BBFTG 2006 Transaction Thread - no, it always gets posts anyways, and there arent anny transactions right now. When the offseason comes, we will have a different thread that says BBFTG 06-07 offseason transaction thread.

Lineups and Rotations Thread - If this is what YL uses, then I guess it can stay stickied, if we want to cut down on stickied threads, we can just PM YL our rosters if that is ok with him. In any event YL, dont mess my roster up unless you allready did :D The one I have set on mogul is how I like it.

BBFTG Standings Thread This should stay Stickied until the end of this season along with the 06 daily report

BBFTG 2006 Features Thread - very cool, but it makes everything confusing if it is stickied. it doesnt need to be stickied though it is really cool Wilk.

BBFTG 2006 Injury List - same as others

BBFTG Website Project Thread - well there isnt much news now, it shouldnt be stickied anyways. The only things stickied should be stuff that is very important that has to do with the game being played. Once the offseason starts, the injury thread, standings, daily report, ect. should all be unstickied and offseason threads would become stickied.

BBFTG 2006 Schedules - Im not sure about this one, ppl can just write down there own sch'd as they see there game's each day in the daily report. Plus I need to do a lot of catching up here and I cant load mogul right now.

BBFTG 2006 Transaction Master List - Though trading is over, I fell this is a key resource that should stay stickied. It is pretty cool to also look back at, and it can get confusing to new ppl if they dont see where players went.

BBFTG 2006 Waiver Thread - were past aug 31st! time to unsticky it!

BBFTG 2006 Rules Thread - same as Transaction Master List

what I think should be added to our long sticky list:

2006 Box Score theread - no brainer. Next year, to save on posts and keep it eaiser to read, we should combind this with the daily report.

2007 bbftg season teams - If not now, then at least this offseason. It is important to know which teams are currently open for next year.

and thats all Folks!

I agree with the above selections. But, there are some things that can be deleted, no? Like the player photo challenge. That has run it's course and is no longer needed.

JordanDL3891
10-17-2006, 12:50 PM
o why delete? why delete anything? they dont get in the way because no one ever posts in them.

Yankee Legend
10-17-2006, 03:28 PM
I agree with J25nadroj2042 on what should and shouldn't be stickied. Although, I do feel that the Lineups and Rotations Tread is a good resource as long as people don't repost their info just edit their original posts. But if its more convenient for you guys to pm me about that then im fine with it.

While on the topic of rosters. Remember the way roster expansion works in baseball mogul is that any player in (AAA) shows up on the mlb roster until the postseason. I would suggest looking at your teams minor leaguers and setting aside 10 players to put in (AAA). You can either post those players in the Lineups and Rotations Thread or pm them to me.

Richmond Hill Phoenix

OK, I've decided to stick with this. All the time I've spent on the CPFD has made me appreciate how much work Jordan, YL, and Steve put into this, and it really wouldn't be fair to ditch them now.

If I might make a suggestion. We should make the offseason a little like in real MLB in that teams who have players whose contracts expired get to make them an offer before any other team until a week after the end of the playoffs.

For example: The Mets' Steve Traschel's contract expires this year. I suggest that until a week after the playoffs (Nov. 5 I think) the Mets will get to give Traschel an offer before any other team can. After Nov. 5, Trachsel is available to be signed by any other team.

What do you guys think?

AznInvasion
10-19-2006, 08:11 PM
I think it's almost necessary for this rule to be put in place cuz I haven't been able to resign the players I wanted to and I didn't realize some of my guys were free agents till very late.

yea, but who would decide? I say to h*** with the trade/agent councel :D (sry guys)

I think we should let mogul go, but the council should go with the deal that gets the most money.

at least lets use mogul for the price that the players want.

No I like the agent council idea. just as long as there wont be a bunch of Scott Boras's on there. We had a similar thing in the old game and it worked.

The Washington Nationals made a stunning move today, benching Canadian-born outfielder Jason Bay in favour of veteran George Lombard.

Bay, acquired at the Trade Deadline by Washington, was supposed to create an impact for the Nationals but he has not done so, and his average has slipped 40 points since coming to DC and he has fallen from 2nd, to 4th, to 6th, to 7th and finally 9th in the batting order before being replaced by George Lombard.

Lombard, 32, is hitting .280 this season though has struggled since recovering from a bulging disc in his lower back which caused him to miss 2 months of play.

Only way I make it is if i win out the last 10 games vs the NYM and even though we've been hot I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm gonna have the most wins without being in the playoffs.:ughh

I just looked at all the box scores, I only see 2 or 3 games with bombs. One game with 2. and a .224 avg? im not missing much, compare him to Dunn, also, I dont need him, luckly it doesnt matter, as I wont play aginst you anyways, so good luck with bags, but I didn't, and dont need him.

I officially resign as GM of the Pittsburgh Pirates , for various unrelated reasons .
Even though resigning , I am still a part of this league , soon becoming the Official GM of the Cleveland Indians .

lol, the season will end in a few days! NOTE: after the season (and playoffs) you lose control of your team and gain control of your 07 team. if you are not signed up for 07, go to the 2007 teams thread and sign up! PLEASE CHECK IT EVERYONE! JUST INCASE YOU ARE NOT ON IT! Wilk, YL, and I (and the trade council) will NOT allow any transactions made by GM's that are NOT set for 07 this offseason, will NOT go through (includes signing FA's, and your own)

So what is the procedure for re-signing our own players? I assume that since I never heard back about my contract offers we will have a chance to re-sign guys from our own team before they go to the open market.

Two other things:

1. Will the proposed increase of the minimum salary to $380,000 in the new CBA be reflected in our game?

2. What is the process for signing free-agents? Highest bidder wins?

1. I dono, we will have to ask wilk about that

2. I think so.

You will get a shot to resign your players before they go on the FA list I do belive.

Thanks. I really need to know, because more than half my guys are up for free-agency this year. I'm excited to see who I can get though.

Well, the season ended on a (very) high note for the Red Sox, with shutouts in each of their last two games, 6-0 and 8-0. Kip Wells threw 8 2/3 scoreless in the first one, and Lenny DiNardo picked up the final out. The season finale for the team from Beantown gave signs of great promise for next year: Rookie Jon Lester did not allow a run in an 8-0 shellacking of the Cubs, raising his record to 2-9. Craig Hansen picked up four saves on the season, and looks to be ready to assume the closer's role in 2007. Great season, and I'm looking forward to 2007 already!
