I thought Melvin was bad.. but I swear to god that Hargrove is TRYING to get fired. Lopez is the best hitter on the team and you make him bunt EVERY SINGLE TIME THERE IS A RUNNERS ON. Incredible.

--If excessive bunting were his only fault, it would still be a big enough one for me to hate having him running our team. Sadly, its just the tip of the ice berg with Hargrove. He can't be fired soon enough to suit me.

--Two more outs on the bathpaths in the 9th. Freaking priceless. At least yesterday's bad baserunning gave us a chance to see a rare triple play:crazy . Hargrove couldn't be worse if he were trying to throw games.

He bunted with Lopez again... and then with Ibanez (!). Thank god they went to two strikes.

What was that, 9 or 10 times in this series where he put the bunt on, and how many times did it actually work? How many more times did it end up in multiple outs? The Mariners need to take base-running 101, and Hardgrove needs to move the f*** out of Seattle.

I completely agree. I wish they would bring back Piniella -- he might be just what the team needs (a fiery manager who won't tolerate failure). That's what they need back in the early '90s and it looks like they've returned to that trend of accepting bad baseball. Hargrove is too complacent and I'm getting tired of it. I'm not a huge fan of Dusty Baker, but it might be better for both teams if they just traded managers. Dusty did have pretty good success on the west coast, while Hargrove's success was in the midwest...
