As I've heard, a member is given a 2 day grace period to think about what they've done, and then if he/she continues to act wrongly they are banned permanently, so as to answer your question...yes.

A "ban" = a permanent banishment from the site; a "suspension" = temporary revocation of one's account. If someone has gone off the deep end and given posts in extremely poor taste, they'll warrant the ban, as would the 1-post spammers hawking their useless wares for us.

A suspension can be 1 day up to a week in 1-day increments, then 2-3 weeks and onward, until there's the permanent ban. It's at the total discretion of the Admin(s) or Mod(s) as to how lengthy the punishment is, based upon the actions by the forumer.
