Which player in his rookie year won the teams MVP and as a prize won a Aqua-Car? A car that could be driven on land or in water.

I think they made Aqua-cars in the 60's - they even had fins like the cars did then, but in this case they may have actually served a purpose.

They were horrible cars and horrible boats, too.

Actually, the name was "Amphicar". They were made in West Germany, and as you have already mentioned, they were marketed in the 1960's.

You can read more about them here:

As an eleven year old, I remember seeing them at the 1964 New York World's Fair. For the then princely sum of $ 5.00 you could ride one from the fair grounds, down a ramp and into the waters of Long Island Sound (or was it Jamaica Bay?).

A more worthwhile investment was nearby. Just across from the fairgrounds was the then new Shea Stadium. While we were there, the New York Mets were playing the Houston Colt 45's. A battle of the expansion inept! ;)

We need a manager.

Ubiquitous-PLEASE don't leave us hanging! I, for one, am impatiently waiting to find out who rated his team's ROY honors and was the "lucky" winner of an Amphicar!

So the 1964 World's Fair promo was just about right on! Hunt would have been their rookie of the year in 1963...

Let's not forget Cub backup infielder Bobby Sturgeon.

A pitcher named Roy Crabb who played in 1912 for the Athletics and the White Sox might make the team in a mop-up role.
