Who was the last player to hit 30 homeruns but have less than 70 RBI?

I have no idea, but right now Marcus Thames of the Tigers has 8 HR's and 11 RBI's.

That's on a pace for 28 HR's and 38 RBI's.

More than 30 homeruns but < 70 RBI in full season.

Forgot to establish that, LOL.

Jose Valentin almost did it, but he had exactly 70 RBIs that year.

Brad Wilkerson of the Expos did it in 2004.
Good call mojo.

He did it because he hit in the lead off spot. I assume that's the only way to set this kind of weird mark.

Wilky had atleast half a dozen homeruns in the first at-bat of the game. I remember there was a thread about it during the 2004 season kepping track of his progress in the Expos forum. I'll try to dig it up.

I only see 1 in 2004 (Wilkerson) with Valentin excluded cause he had exactly 70 RBIs.

Last year nobody did it, David Dellucci was closest with 29 homers and 65 RBIs.

The first case of this todate was Felix Mantilla, 1964, with 30 HR's and 64 rbi's.

Besided Mantila in 1964 (30-64) and Wilkerson in 2004 (32-67), Brook Jacoby in 1987 (32-69) and Rob Deer in 1992 (32-64) were the only others to do it.

If u said Brad Wilkerson, you are correct, he was the last player to do so.

I thought HEnderson might have done it.

He was close in 1990, going for 28 hr's and 61 RBI's.
