about ten years ago reported about a player in the Padre system who his dad was quoted as saying that he was better than his brother. What made that quote scary was the speaker was Bobby Bonds.
Does anyone know anything about the great prospect Bobby Bonds Jr. What happened to him. Why didn't he make it to the Majors?

Why didn't he make it to the bigs? Because he sucked! I have no clue why his dad would have said that. Maybe just to raise Bobby Jr.'s self-esteem? Anyway, in 1999 or so, the Giants signed him to a minor league deal, and he came to AAA here in Fresno for a while. I watched him a few times but don't remember too much about him other than his .240 or so average and being a jerk when kids like me wanted to get his 'graph.

Maybe he learned about being a jerk from his brother. I thought it interesting to read that quote from Bobby SR. though. Maybe dad thought he was a better jerk
