Name the only player who pitched in at least 10 seasons and had a winning record in every season he pitched. I've only been able to find 1 such individual but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. As a bonus, name the active pitcher who fits this same criterion thru 2005, (the first answer is someone whose career is over).

Babe is the only one I can find. Pete Alexander had a winning record his first 19 years, unfortunately he pitched 20 years.

Ruth and Pettite are the only ones to have a winning record in every season.

Those two, Chandler, Dizzy Dean, Dave Foutz, Joe McGinnity, Deacon Phillippe, Jack Powell and Urban Shocker never had a losing season.

Bill Bailey was the closest to doing the reverse. He went 4-1 his first season with the Browns and then had a losing record his final ten seasons.

Babe would have made the HOF had he remained a pitcher. Fortunately for my Yankees and unfortunately for everyone else, he did not.
Petitte is a future HOFer who was the ace on a staff of aces.
I once commented that "It seems that every year the Yanks look for a new ace to their pitching staff. But all Any Pettite does is win."
I wish the Yanks never let him go.

What surprised me in researching this question is that only 135 pitchers have had 10 or more winning seasons.

They didn't.......he CHOSE to go to the Astros even though the Yanks offered more $.The way Pettite is pitching this year (3 wins 6 losses) Babe may be all by himself on this list again.

You guys (eventually) are correct - only the Babe has done it to the end of his career. Pettite needs to get his act together to keep his streak alive. Maybe the Rocket will inspire him now that his spoiled self is back.
