Who is Jason Botz? What a shot he hit in tonight's game vs. the A's! First major league homer is upper deck where only the big boys go. He had nice stats at Oklahoma. Is this guy the next Jeff Burroughs or Mike Simms?(left handed version)

Jason Botts was drafted in 99 like 40th round I think. He put up some monster numbers in AAA ball. Played 10 games last year and looked fairly well. Its pretty obvious he has some good power now and I think comparing him to Jeff Burroughs is a fair comparison.

And I would much rather see him DH then Phil Nevin...

He looks like a lefthanded Richie Sexson. Guys like this are a blast to watch!

Botts could kill somebody w/ a line drive. Watched the end of tonite's game on MLB's site. Way to go Otsuka! Gives Texas the widest lead in the AL, 3 games.

Sorry Rangers fans! I keep calling him Botz instead of Botts! :o I'm having a flashback to Bob"Buterball" Botz who pitched for the Angels in 1962......

And I lived in Dallas for 9 years. I was a transplanted Senators fan who became an avid Rangers fan during my years there. I actually won reboks answering a Rangers trivia question on sports Radio 1310,The Ticket. I also went on air with the Hardline once because I have a Senators tattoo on my chest. They wanted to see it and let me sit in and talk baseball with them for about 20 minutes. Dallas-Fort worth is a great place! :clapping

Heheh Botz!
