Please dont say hes injured!!! Please dont.I see him rolling his shoulder around looking its bothering him.Watch the tape and he rolls his shoulder around time to time i wonder if Leo Mazzone noticed this.
Could be something. Could be just a chronic problem.
Either way if he's really injured, that's kind of a load off my mind, because he's been pitching awful. I don't know how much longer the team will keep him in the rotation. The problem is they have to find replacements for Lopez, AND Chen, AND Cabrera (well, they've started on that).
On the bright side, Bedard and Benson have done pretty well--so we actually have something to start with. And we're only two games under. I know that sounds corny considering the team, but I believe there's always a chance early in the season to gel later on, no matter the team.

Well Leo Mazzone should have a chat with him and discuss about the shoulder. And Put him in a workout in the bullpen and make him use that shoulder. But if he shows any emotions leo should tell him its your shoulder im sending you to Bowie for Rehab assignment.

he's 1-7 already? What happened to him? Under the old pitching coach (I forget his name), he pitched well. If Mazzone's job isn't further on the line, maybe it's me. He may not be the solution for Baltimore's pitching for now. Just one of the many coaches/managers this year that hasn't been doing well (Jim Tracy - Pirates is an example) despite doing well previously.

Like i said Leo Mazzone should take him out to the bullpen for a workout. And make him use that shoulder. If he expresses any discomfort Mazzone should send him down to bowie for rehab workout. And Bring up Brian Burres Pitcher from Ottawa.

I'd much rather send up Adam Loewen. He has a clause in his contract that says he HAS to be up on the major league team by 2007. Might as well bring him up now so he has experience.

Lopez and Chen are better than they're showing but how long will the O's wait for a turnaround? The All-Star break? They're a combined 1-12 now. I'll bet Loewen and Penn are watching closely.

After my previous post,I noticed that the O's bought Hayden Penn up yesterday and sent Manon down.

Lopez is working under the new Mazz system of down and away. It's not his style and I think while working at it...he lost some of his arm. Either he'll get it...or he won't. We'll see. I say leave Loewen where he is, he needs to be up by 2007 anyway, so let him at least get the rest of next year (he's still only in single A) in AA and AAA before we rush him up. We already rushed up Penn (who we shouldn't have brought up until late June/July) because of Cabrera getting injured and Chen just being about as bad as one can get.
Maybe Angelos will think twice about letting ALL of our pitchers go to the WBC next year.
I thought the WBC was going to be every four years... please no, not every spring. :ughh
Chen, of course, pitched under Mazzone in Atlanta for a short while, and didn't do so well. Last year he had perhaps his best season in the majors, and this year, paired with Mazzone again, he's fallen flat on his face.
I really hope this works out, but, it may have to be our minor-league talent that follows the Mazzone school of pitching onto our rotation (like Bedard is working on now).

He does seem to lose some of that arm.Maybe its time for Lopez to become orioles middle relief guy.
