When the Giants won 26 in a row in 1916, where did they finish?

I think I read somewhere that they both began and ended the streak in 4th place, which is where they finished-correct.

I think I read somewhere that they both began and ended the streak in 4th place, which is where they finished-correct.Before the streak (on 9/6/1916) they were in 4th place 13 1/2 behind the 1st place Phillies and 12 1/2 behind the 3rd place Braves.
After the streak they were 5 games behind the 1st place Brooklyn Robins and 1 game behind the 3rd place Braves. They were actually tied with the Braves for 3rd before Boston beat them in the second game of a double header on 9/30/1916 to break their winning streak.
They actually didn't win 26 in a row. The won 12, tied a game on 9/18, then won 14 more. They also had a 17 game winning streak earlier in the season. I guess they weren't too impressive the rest of the season.

The before date you give is September 16. It should the 6th.
The amazing thing is they went 27-4 from September 6 to the end of the season and did not move up in the standings.
