5. Who was the General Manager who was fired at the same time as Stengel with the Yanks and joined Stengel with the Mets?

Those are correct. But there is a little more to no. 3. It was the 1st WS Homerun at YS.
How bout the unanswered one. It is somewhat obscure.
Also can you name the year Stengel won 100.
Of course the uniqueness of No.1 was that he wore those unis in New York. Others can and may have since the Dodgers and Giants moved to California.

2. 1954 (When the Yankees didn't win the pennant)
4. In 1943 Stengel had his leg broken in a car accident and missed most of the season. A local sportswriter sarcastically nominated him for "Sportsman of the Year".

exactly. The Indians set a Then AL record with 111 wins while the Yanks won 103.
I thought the cabbie for Sportsman of the year story was cute.

Dave Egan.
Is that the same idiot who didn't give an MVP vote to Ted Williams in one of his triple-crown years - 1947, costing him the award?

It may be. Williams and the press had a hate-hate relationship, costing him the MVP in both triple crown years and his .400 year.
CAN YOU NAME THE PLAYERS WHO WON THOSE YEARS.

DiMaggio won it in 1941 when Teddy hit .406 thanks to the Clipper's hitting streak (among other things).
For some reason I'm thinking DiMaggio also won it in 1947 during Ted's 2nd Triple Crown year.
I'm sensing a trend...did Joe D also win it during Ted's other Triple Crown year?
That would certainly be a Triple Crown of thievery by Joe D if that was the case.

Ted Williams lost the 1942 MVP, despite winning the Triple Crown, to Joe Gordon, who honestly had an awesome year.
I looked it up, and the Boston reporter who didn't give Williams one single vote for MVP in 1947 was a guy called Mel Webb, who Williams called "a real old grouch."
Williams won the MVP in 1949, probably because DiMaggio missed half the year with his heel injury... and Williams missed the triple crown by a tiny fraction of batting average to George Kell.

Nope. But Dave Egan was supposedly a marvelous writer. He hated Ted and Ted hated him.

Ted had a hate-hate relationship with Boston sportswriters.
