Jays lead the majors in errors...
i know its not just our middle infielders but cmon man... i would be able to overlook all of adam's fielding errors had he been swinging a decent stick.. but when u can't get 1 of 2 things right in a baseball game.. time to make some changes!

Other than the standard errors that all teams make and a higher number of errors from the middle infield, alot there's been a couple of bad luck type plays that have inflated that number of errors by a little bit. I don't think that's an excuse though, I personally take it as fact.

Russ Adams is a bum and Hill has quite a few errors those 2 alone probably account for half of our errors.

Aaron Hill's defensive stats. 41 Games, 3 errors, .985 FPCT.
I really don't think that he is much of a defensive liability.
His hitting this year is another story, but defensively he is far more than adequate.

Hill's hitting is starting to come around, Adams made his 10th error today god it was a pathetic throw too.

Adams shaould have benn turned into a second baseman at some point in the minors. The only reason he wasn't, I think, is because they had second secured with Hudson and they were in desperate need of a shortstop at the big-league level.

russ adams cant hit, his range stinks and he makes many errors.
Aron hill hits better fields better. Why were we playing adams again. They chose hill to move to second because he was such a good fielder he could do it. If they had asked adams it would have been blooper city over there.
I expect adams to be traded or rot in the minors.

you guys have to look at the range. For example ecstien had a record low in errors by giving up less than a handfull for a ss. You cant tell me he is a better defensive ss than the likes of, jeter, vizquel, rollins, reyes, ect ect ect.
you have to look at how the range of a ss is over the errors. Sadly russ adams has poor range and makes a lot of errors. A very bad combination if you ask me

Adam's range will be less challenged at 2nd base.
He would definitley be an upgrade from that "Figgy" guy. I don't see much of an upside at this point with him.
I wonder who they will pin the error on with that infield fly that they all missed in Baltimore tonight.
Someone has to take charge in that situation.

I, for one interviewed for the General Manager spot at one time. They said they would have hired me but they said JP had a more esthetic quality to him.

Russ Adams is playing horrible on defence. I remember one game he served up two errors. Right after that game- sent down.
Defense Counts!

Errors aren't the whole story on defense, but I agree that Hill and Adams are a liability in the field. The Jays lost a lot when Orlando was traded. Unfortunately, defense always gets overlooked (hence my moniker!).

When you talk about Aaron Hill you talk about a guy who, in only his first full season, has seen significant time at 3 different infield positions. He's clearly not at the calibre of Orlando Hudson, but he's a better hitter than Hudson and I trust him to play day in and day out in the infield.

i think hill is very underrated defensivly. he is judged by everyone at second by hudson standards and frankly, there isn't a 2B in baseball better then hudson on defense, imo. hill has good range, nice arm and like you said chris, played 3 infield position and played them well.
