The title says it all but I havent ever asked anyone and I know you guys will know. Hopefully I don't sound like a complete idiot, but how would I go about joining a minor league team?

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but you watch and see how many stupid answers you get. :D

Well, you have to either be drafted or signed or scouted, you must play a high level of baseball.

Check your paper for tryout notices, slaytanicsdmf. They're usually held before the season. For minor league teams, those who play in an independent league, not under the auspices of a Major League team, would offer the best opportunity for a guy coming in off the street.

Now if I didn't play high school ball would I still have a chance?

While organized experience helps, I am sure, they'll be looking for ability first and foremost.

Try going to the independent Leagues, especially any in your area first and see when they are having their tryouts.

Going on Frank being from Cleveland, there is a college-level summer league in Ohio. Cities such as Lima, Celina and Xenia field teams. They may have thi near you, as well, slaytanicdmf.

I got asked to play semi pro football just for being at the field. Actually in the bathroom. Why not email your local minor league organization and ask for a tryout. Worst thing they can say is no. Don't tell them you never played though.
