View Full Version : Banned members returning

There has recently been a great deal of accusations and strong circumstantial evidence that members who have been previously banned have returned under new accounts. Allegedly, there are some members who have been banned multiple times under multiple identities. Is there any way we can do something about his. Is there a way to identify the IP addresses of posters and banning posts from that address? Or is there another method to disable banned posters from returning, or at least make the process much more troublesome? This would not only help get rid of problem members for good, but it would enable members' accusations to be proven as valid, or invalid for that matter.

If you suspect that a banned member has returned under a different account, then please alert a Mod as to the new forumer and who you believe they were under a prior account, including your reasons for believing this.

Guys I have been keeping what amounts to a running list of member names who struck me as suspicious of this behavior as well as some who were cutting a pasting posts from other sites.
Routinely they seem to pop up in exactly the same threads and their posting styles are strikingly similar as well as their veiwpoints. If you guys would like the info I'd be more than happy to hand it over as I think it all ends up leading back to the the first set of incidents here.

ESPN:
Basically, we the Mods rely upon trusted and quality forumers such as yourself, diggs and others who post here to relay such information to us.
If you have reason to believe that someone has been doing things that aren't in the best interests of BBF, please feel free to mention this to one or more Mods and we can look at this. Please also provide a reason for why you feel that person's behavior may not be up to the level of quality posting, the return of a banned forumer, etc.
Simple advice: do not confront and/or accuse publicly any forumer of having been someone else. Please just pass this onto the Mods and we shall handle things privately, and anonimity on your part will be insured.
Thx. :)

Because not all people access Fever through a personal computer.

There are instances where IP addresses are banned. At least once a week. This often occurs when spammers attack the site. Some instances have been rogue members who come here to stir the pot under one account then push their own site via private messages under another account right after they attacked the member with their rogue account. Once caught their IP gets banned and both accounts get removed from the system as well as their rogue messages.

I didn't know really what Mod to get in touch with over this but I know the person who created accounts Pen15 and Horny Cat. I reccomended the site to him, in-case he was interested in good baseball talk. But unfortunently he is taking advantage of the site, and is continuing to make trolling accounts. And is threatning to post false things about me. And more Racist and in-appropriate things to get under people's skin.
So if there is anything you all can do to make sure this person does not return, I would be most appreciative. And if you need any info from me please do PM me and I'll do the best I can to help you.

know the person who created accounts Pen15 and Horny Cat.
Both accounts were closed within moments of opening by the moderators here on site for spamming. I banned the IP a moment ago.
Take care, thanks for the help, and sorry about the problems,
Sean

If you know this personal directly, if you can contact him/her to discourage further opening of accounts and thread creation or disruption, that would be great.
I certainly wouldn't fault you for recommending this site to a baseball fan, but if you could help us in discouraging further misuse, that would be great!
Thx. :)
