It appears that Tyler Walker has been annointed the new closer by manager Joe Maddon. He earned his third save in four attempts this afternoon against the A's.He had over 20 saves last year with the Giants, lets hope he can continue.

Tyler Walker continues to be used as the close and keeps producing. He makes it interesting , but is getting the job done.

Started off with a bang, then imploded for a few, but seems to have settled into his little niche here. I wasn't really rooting for Micelli to get injured, but things sometime work out for the best ;)

Micelli wasn't the closer of choice. He was all there was at the time. He is probably better suited as a set up man.

Tyler Walker earned his 5th save last night. He once again made it interesting, surrenderingback to back singles after one out, putting runners on first and third. He then got a double play to end the game. After a couple of rough outings against the Red Sox and Yankees he has started to settle in as the closer.

Seth McClung had a good start last night against the Blue Jays getting the win. Rudy Lugo pitched a strong 8th inning, and Tyler Walker got the save. Now to find a 5th starter. Edwin Jackson are you ready?

Thank God for Walker! Last night was nearly a disaster, wasting a sterling performance by our ace Kazmir. Meadows is a disgrace to pitchers everywhere, why he is still on the roster is beyond me. Where was Camp last night? He's a DP machine, at a time when we needed one desperately in the 8th. :hp

It's amazing how a seemingly harmless error by Julio Lugo starting the 8th inning almost turned into disaster. It's not a good sign when you see Harper, Lugo and Meadows not only not get the Job done but they are out there shaking their head and looking like Deer caught in the headlights. Lugo is a rookie but the other two are veterans and should be able to take the pressure. When you have to bring in your closer to get a save after having a 9 run lead going into the 8th inning, you know their are problems.

Tonight, another qualitystart, this time by Mark Hendrickson, Another quality save by Tyler Walker. Another near disaster by the rest of the bullpen, this time Rick Camp and Chad Orvella. Other then the starters and Walker the rest of the staff is in a shambles.

I wouldn't mind having him in our bullpen over Meadows and Orvella. Even at his age, if he's still alive :grouchy

Thanks for pointing out my mistake in a very nice way.The Rays are checking to see if Rick Camp wants to make a comeback. Meanwhile Tyler Walker continues to get the job done. Shawn Camp and Rudy Lugo both couldn't quite get their jobs done tonight.Casey Fossum didn't look real good and in fact looked like he was nursing an injury.
