Hello....I'm looking for the date of this game if anyone can give me a clue.
The following is an article from the Miami Herald. Unfortunately the newspaper clipping I have does not have a date, which is why I'm trying to determine when this game occurred.
************************************************** ***
With Veteran Nelson Potter pitching three-hit balls the American League Champion St. Louis Browns defeated the Washington Senators, 7 to 1, last night in the first of a four-game series.
The Brownies clubbed former teammate Johnny Niggeling for five hits including four extra bases in the first three innings and scored six runs.
George Case, Washington lead-off man, singled in the first inning and then Potter kept the Senators hitless until Rick Ferrell opened the ninth with a single. Pinch Hitter Joe Ventura followed with the third hit, another single.
Boris "Babe" Martin, American Association batting king last season, made three of the Browns seven hits - a single, double and triple.
************************************************** ****
If it helps, the same day this game occurred, the Indians also beat the Chicago White Sox 7-1. Mike Tresh tagged out Outfielder Ed Carnett of the Indians at home plate in the fourth inning. This game was at Comiskey Park. Umpire was Charley Berry.
I have an article regarding my grandmother on the reverse side of the page of these two articles and trying to determine the time frame (genealogist here - I see I'm not alone!)
Thanks much for any help!
