In two long overdue moves Teahen has been sent down to Omaha and fan favorite Aaron Guiel has been brought back up. Teahen is just out of his depth as a major leaguer and doesn't seem to be willing (or lack the stones) to do what it takes to be a successful 3B in the bigs.

Guiel, of course, a longtime fan favorite, is, at best, a 33 year old journeyman. But we love the guys attitude and work ethic. He should have made the club as the 4th OFer out of spring training. He is perfect for that role.

I'm surprised the Royals haven't tried to ruin Alex Gordon yet...he's been in the Royals farm for a whooping half of a year! :laugh

They don't need to bring a guy up to ruin him.

I seem to remember that we got Teahen and Buck for Beltran when we traded him to the Astros in '04 (when he was the hottest player in baseball)... that seems to have turned out well! Way to go Al!

I love Aaron Guiel. How he could be kept in the minors almost all of last year was downright criminal. Maybe he wouldn't hit the 30 HR's at the K he did in Omaha, but he couldn't have been any worse than what they were running out there.

Now, to hope that he's still in the majors come June when my family comes to KC for the Brewers series.

Just think, the Royals were just a tick off of getting David Wright.
If they would have packaged Sweeney with Beltran (and as I recall, the Mets needed a 1B at the time), maybe we could have had him.
