Who are the top 25 players from 1970-1979? My friends and I are having a debate, and we've come to an agreement on 20 of the 25, we just need some help on the last 5 slots. Here they are in no particular order.

for catchers i would add bench and fisk to your list. you seem to have forgotten jim palmer, who was probably the most consistently fine starting pitcher of the decade. joe morgan, pete rose, reggie, carew, and others should be included too, and while eckersley was a fine starter from 75-79, he wouldn't be a top 25 guy for that decade, and though guys like dale murphy, smith, trammell, and yount started in that era, they really belong more to the 80's.. i believe that raines barely played in the 70's, off the top of my head that is...

rose, bench, fisk, carew - all those guys began their careers in the 1960s.

The first time I tried to start this thread, my computer didn't work, and then when I started for the secon time, I wasn't clear. Who are the greatest players who BEGAN their careers from 1970-1979. Not the greatest players who played in the 70s. Sorry.

oh i see..my bad...maybe fred lynn, dwight evans, thurman munson, george foster , cecil cooper,
ron guidry, and guys like that could be candidates for the lower spots?
