who would of thought it. coulda asked any tribe fan in spring training and we all woulda said the 3 b's were our biggest weakness. but lol and behold look at them now. Benny w/ a 8 rbi game 2nite, Casey swinging a mean .357, and Boone being Boone, solid across the boardn nothing great. if we can find a healthy, effective middle reliever good times could be a happening.:dance

broussard was NEVER a bad player. He just got in the dog house last year for some reason. Still he ended up with almost 20hrs and 70rbis. I think he can be an everyday first basemen that can hit 25-30hrs and 80-90rbis and play gold glove caliber defense.

no doubt about his ability, but he has always hit 250-260 and no clutch. i think the pressure of not having to hit lefties has dramaticaly improved his confidence and shown the player he is, lighs out against righties and so-so against his own. believe me i hope this keeps up either in platoon or straight up every day

He's fine, so long as he only has to hit off of rhers.

as of 7/2
player/avg/hr/rbi
Boone .253-4-32
Blake .304-10-36
Broussard .329-10-38
And there's talk of moving Blake to first when he comes off the DL to keep Gutierrez in RF...I don't mind giving the young guy playing time, but it should be at the expense of Blake, not Broussard (and I'll take Benny's defense over Blake's any day).
As I said in another thread, it's time to bring up Marte and get him some time at 3B.
