Early Wynn is the only HoF hurler to have done what during the WWII war years?

Just a complete random (most likely wrong) guess that he is the only to pitch 250 + innings.

Hal Newhouser pitched over 300+ innings in both 1944 and 1945. What we are going for is something that covers the war years, not just one season.

Worked in a war time munitions factory in the off season or flew a helicopter? (WHIRL Wynn)

I have no idea, but doubt it. The title is just something that sounded good, but has no bearing on the answer.

I see that he was a switch hitter but only batted right handed during the war years.Anything to do with your question?

Not in the least.

Early Wynn
Bob Feller
Ted Lyons
Hal Newhouser
Warren Spahn

Those are the only five to have pitched at least one year between 1942-1945.

The question clearly states the Wynn was the only Hofer to do this. Besides you left Red Ruffing off your list.

That's true, but you missed Ruffing who did homer. The answer is a straightforward pitching thing.

Putting Feller on that list is a bit of a strech. He pitched for about five weeks in the 1942-1945 period.

Wynn is the only Hofer in the WWII war years to have a losing record.
