Overshadowed by Piazza's 400th homerun and Bonds' 711th, Albert won a game today with a would- have -been -a- double (if not for the winning run scoring) in the bottom of the 9th today against the Pirates. This is already Albert's 6th game winning RBI of the season, and 4th since this Friday!
This is even more amazing when concidering there are probably a dozen teams that haven't even won 4 games since Friday, and the Pirates and Royals have only won 5 games all season.

Pujols is on a roll, his numbers this year, barring injury, should be incredible.

Which are the 6 games where he'd hit a game-winner?
Thx. :)

Another one to watch for numbers this year might be Vernon Wells in Toronto. He hit 2 more home runs last night and his average is around 400.
Pujols is something else. He seems to hit at will.

I don't remember exactly. One was the 3 homerun walk-off game, one was last nights double, Albert hit a game-winning two runs single to be the Cubs last week. Albert hit a two-run double to go ahead for good against the Cubs on Friday, I don't remember the other two. His two homerun openind day against the Phillies may be one of them.

Basically, if it's a blowout or the hit that eventually wins the game comes before the 7th inning, I generally don't count this.
Friday's game the Cards won 9-3. With no runs scored after the 5th, I'm not sure I'd call that a GWH.

Saturday's (4/22) game was closer. Despite his GWH being in the 5th, it was an eventual 4-1 game, broke a tie. I'll credit this as being his 1st GWH since Friday.

They lost on Sunday (4/23) and on Monday (4/24), they won 7-2. I'm not sure that a GWH counts in that kind of game.
On Tuesday (4/25), the 6-3 win wasn't decided by Pujols (see the play-by-play below).

On Wednesday (4/26), Pujols was credited with a GWH. That's his 2nd so far.

Last night, Thursday (4/27), Pujols was not credited with a GWH in the 6-2 win.

Anyway, someone on another board mentioned that he'd hit about 6 GWH so far, mentioning how clutch he was, so you've got a very good point.

You do know they stopped keeping track officially of GWRBIs 15 years ago. For the reason of how do you know. Walk off HRs are one thing. However if there is a building lead for the home team say 8-0. Then over the course of the game it ends 8-6. does the person who had the 7th RBI of the game get the GW? Well, I suppose thats why they stopped keeping track.
BTW Kirk Gibson had the most GWRBIs in a row (5 or 6 I think) in 1986 or 87.

Does today's 8th inning homerun with a 1-1 tie count?:)
Bye the way, just becasue GWRBI's is no longer official, doesn't mean they aren't worth taking a look at.

pujols is a stud. period. no matter how he got to be what he is.
as far as gwrbi: some are more interesting than others... and exciting.
such as moises alou's blast yesterday on the back of randy winn's incredible athletic catch.
