What are ur thoughts on Aaron Rowand? I think he's pretty good. I just bought his jersey (and of course the day i get his jersey he goes 0 for 5). Anyway, he is still adjusting to a new team, and they just moved his rotation spot from 2nd to 6th, and he is also adjusting to NL ball. I think he's got potential and he's a keeper

This guy is a great fielder. he has good speed and gets it done with the bats but isnt the next rod carew. I think he is good. He has feew all star games ahead. No mvps but he"ll make some good contributions. Hes a good player but is a great leader. He has a great attitude, And unlike the old centerfielder he isnt afraid of that wall. When the ball is hit to the outfield he understands his job is to catch it.

Rowand was, in many ways, the heart and soul of the White Sox. He represented the hard nosed, grinder style, never-say-die type of attitude that made the Sox champions. We miss Aaron here on the south side and what he brought to this team every time he stepped on the field to play.
If you've watched Aaron play, you'll know that he gives everything he's got and will always put the team first before himself. He's not the most talented guy you'll find, but he more than makes up for that with his heart and desire. The guy never gives up and will never quit. This is what made him a fan favorite when he was here with the Sox. Many of us hope someday he'll be back with this team.
Aaron has had the game winning hit 2 days straight now for the Phillies against the Marlins and Braves.
Being an Aaron Rowand fan has also made me a Phillies fan. I hope you guys do great this year!:waving

Yea that shot with his head in the towel made my stomach turn. He's a great player. I hope a hit like this doesn;t make him more hesitant to lay himself on the line for a ball. He's a pretty good hitter too

All of you are right, Aaron Rowand is quite a player. I just love watching him play centerfield. While he looked horrible (with all that blood), I am so glad it wasn't worse.
I will tell you, the Phillies had better do something about that wire fence and pole out there. I'd like to know who was the genius in the Phillies corporate structure who approved it, while the park was being built?
WE, in Brooklyn, had one of OUR players, Pete Reiser, whose career was cut short by banging into the outfield walls at OUR Ebbets Field in the 1940's (there was no such thing as padded walls back then). All who saw him play before the final accident claimed Pete could have been one of the best baseball ever saw.
Phillies fans should become vocal about this and make sure that fence is padded to protect Aaron, and any other player who bangs into it.

The Phillie players have been complaining about this for awhile. The irony is that the padding showed up 2 days ago. I guess they were waiting until the road trip to install it. :ughh

That's not the 1st time he's going to run into a wall, and it certainly won't be the last time either.
Rowand is now on the 15-day DL with a broken nose and non-displaced fractures around the left eye.

After seeing him play fopr a few years,I'm not at all surprised that he hung on to that ball.

I hope it does. Out two weeks to catch one ball? Do you want him to miss the whole season or ruin his career?

Theres all this talk about steroids going around and nobody knows who did and didn't take them but steroids can't help you do something like that. That was amazing.

This was Rowand during his press conference yesterday. At least he still has his sense of humor about what happened.

I think they had won something like 9 in a row before he got hurt.
Rowand is a huge football (Bears) fan. He really loves football and would probably play if he had the skills and size. Instead, the closest thing he can do is crash and dive all over the outfield.:D
Rowand rules!:clapping

I was away for the recent Mets series but read that Rowand pulled up before the fence on another long drive. Those of you who saw it, was he just being prudent on an uncatchable ball, or has he possibly gotten a little gun-shy since his injury?
