Occasionally, a pitcher comes into the game as a pinch runner or pinch hitter(particularly in the NL). So does that count as "Games Played" in their stats? I looked at Jeff Weaver's stats last season and according to them, he played in 34 games (started). But I'd seen him appear as a pinch runner in some games. So I guess the pinch-running appearances don't count for pitchers.

Tonight, Brett Tomko and Roy Oswalt appeared as pinch hitters.

it wouldn't show up in his pitching stats - you have to find his overall stats and hitting stats - try baseball-reference.com - he appeared in 39 games last year but only started 34 as a pitcher
