Our first game tonight. It was real close . . .
. . . and then the ump said, "Play ball!" :grouchy
There was a low throw to me at first, catchable but I couldn't hang on to it. They also had a guy on first and the batter hit a shot near the RF line. I knocked it down and thought I took too long securing it. I ran to first then saw the runner had stumbled. I got a bad throw to 2B and the runner made it. I went 0-for-2 early when we needed it. Then after we were getting blown out I got a hit. I'm hoping things can't get worse :ughh

Yeah, I play some Mondays and at least one game every Friday. They have a nice setup here in Tucson, you can play year round. I guess if I had to choose some players that my style is like, it'd be David Eckstein or Juan Pierre. :laugh

Yeah, I'm hopefully going to be starting to play in a slowpitch league here pretty soon. Played last fall in a league. Our most competitive loss was 7-0. And that was because we forfeited. Lost a few 30-0 games, some at about 27-2. We were BAD. I think I was the best player on the team. That is not a good thing.
I consider myself a Sean Burroughs. Have the body type to crush the ball, but can't hit it over an OF unless I hit it PERFECTLY. Starting to experiment with a Pujols-like stance, though, so hopefully I start hitting better.

I'm a little leaguer, except I'm too old. (Little League only goes up to 12-year olds, right?) If I had to make a comparison of myself to an MLB player, it would have to be... hmmmm... David Ortiz. Big, slow, good hitter, king of RBI(s), absolutely horrendous on defense. Despite my batting average being .250, and me having just two RBI and one RS, it's obvious that I'm the best player on my team. Why? Simple. Since I've been back from a family funeral, my team is undefeated. What's more, all the teams we've beaten beat us when I wasn't there.
Oh, and to adapt your sig, RMB, I would be "strong as an ox." And I throw AND run like one.

I play ball 3 nights a week plus some tourneys. I've been playing since I was in my late 20's. I just turned 40 so my goal is to play at least until 45 and maybe 50. :p
