...way too early to even think about it IMHO. If we're going to talk about Zambrano, we might as well start talking about players like Sheets or Peavy.

He hasn't done enough yet to even speculate about his candidacy.

What's next, a B.J. Upton thread?

W_Marone
04-24-2006, 06:32 PM
well i see other threads about young players like Chavez, and Beltre, who I dont think should even be mentioned in hall of fame discussions at all, beltre that is.. so i figure why not bring up some other young dudes. haha, and what about Upton Hall of fame perhaps? haha just kidding. (I also noticed that most of those threads were started by the same person, not ragging or anything just an observation)

I think it's still early to talk about Chavez; Chavez however, has been a quality Major Leaguer for 6 and a half seasons and one of the premier 3B in the league. Beltre is way too early IMHO as he's had one great season and more than mediocre in the rest.

"IMHO"??
Sorry dudes, but what does this mean, im not educated on appreviations.

The Dude

In my honest opinion.

Or IMO "in my opinion". I mean, it's obvious when someone posts something its their opinion, but I think we usually just use it to reinforce that it's just our opinion and not an "experts", unless one would consider some of the BBF members experts (There are a few among us, but not all).

cmon man, no need for mockery:rolleyes: If there can be a carlos beltran thread, a adrian beltre thread, a berkman thread, and chavez thread, why not add to the baby players and put in a carlos zambrano thread?

He hasn't done that much yet, but since he's 24, that's hardly a surprise or a huge problem. The other problem with projecting pitchers is how often they come up with arm troubles which seriously alter their apparent chances. Remember Dwight Gooden? He looked pretty impressive at the same age, probably moreso than Zambrano, and yet, from that point on, his case for the HOF went into a slide to the point where I doubt he's got any real chance of election.

Carlos is overrated, Victor is terrable, Whats next, considering David Write for the HOF sure hes good but it is way to soon. plus Carlos is a scum bag

I think the answer to that is, just because there are idiots about doesn't mean we have to mimic their mistakes.

man that's the one problem with this site, you post your opinion or a question and all you get is guff from everyone one here, its either, well stats say this, or according to me its this or that, and then everyone just agrees not to feel stupid. C'mon guys, if someone has an opinoin let them speak it, and lets not mock people. Yeah I know, im gonna get.."get off the soap box" and all that. Just saying, and, yeah, im done. And uhh, i guess thats it :dance

and we're done

He's too young, but it would seem that when someone states, distant future meaning that there needs to be speculation, but perhaps I should have been that literal with the question and explanation, but o well who cares, next topic.

Why just the other day, it was go kazmir actually, i know him personally said David Wright will be the best third basemen ever, now isnt that a bit early?

Go Kazmir

yes i said David Write will go down as the best third basemen ever thats because he is a moster and has more talent in the toe then you have in your entire body

shut your hole you bum haha

While were here, Johnny Gomes will be the first D-ray in the hall and will be the greatest DH/Outfielder ever, how about that, he will go down as one.

no kazmir and gomes will go in the hall together but for other teams because the D-ray is the Majors minor league team

As a typical phillies fan, im going to say this, no thirdbaseman will be better than Mikey Schmidt

Go Kazmir

as a mets fan Howard Johnson will always be the best third basemen

This turned out to be one of the funniest threads I've seen on this site.

What team does David Write play for anyway? If he has such talented toes, maybe he should be playing soccer.

Unintentional humor is the best! When "Wright" is misspelled as Write resulting in a grammatical mistake that's like a double entrendre.

We don't set out to "beat" other posters on this site. The object is coherent posts, not posts where you're essentially just baiting other people in a hard-to-comprehend manner. Perhaps you should take a look at the style of other members and try to post like that.

Do you two know each other?
Please, both of you, lay off the name calling. Even if you're just joking around. We don't do that here.

I've never been too fond of Carlos Zambrano, I always thought he was a tad overrated.

From 2003-2006, he went 59-32 (.648 WP) with a 3.14 ERA. From 2007 to 2009, he went 41-26 (.612 WP) with a 3.89 ERA. In terms of ERA, he has slipped these past few years.

I don't think he's a future Hall of Famer.

In 9 seasons he has only 105 wins and no 20 win seasons. I just do not see it happening.
