When lugo was hurt and placed on the dl. I thought i would see bj upton for a bit even if its for 3-4 weeks. Does tampa want to use these kidsor have them collecting dust in the farm?
and when is lugo coming back anyway

Lugo is out for another 3 weeks according to the papers this weekend. Upton hasn't been brought up because he insists on playing SS, yet he butchers too many balls to be brought up to the majors. He already has 8 errors in his first 16 games. If he would have learned 3B, he probably already would have been up here.

Tomas is a solid back-up guy I watched him alot when he was with the Philles. So he's not a huge downgrade from Lugo.

Perez also is flawless defensevely and has occasional pop.
He offers something Upton doesn't have; EXPERIENCE.

Justin Upton might become a big league staple sooner than BJ, if BJ keeps his stuff up. He should have learned third base when he had the chance, instead of being stubborn and insisting on playing a position that he isn't good at, and where the Devil Rays leadoff hitter plays.

Perez is a proven Major Leaguer...while Upton has all the potentials beside defense.

Upton will come up when he is ready to be a team player and switch positions. His younger brother said the same thing before the draft, about only playing shortstop. He has now seen the light, hopefully BJ will soon.

jeter had like 40 errors in the minors before he made it to the bigs.I guess if buckled under a learning curve jeter would be in left field.
tejada outright sucked a ss as well.
how come when i ream on mlb the rays organization always seams to say that they are commited to upton play ss, but no i hear that it is his demand.
maybe tampa can get soriano next year and have upton at ss, resign huff put him at first.. Now that would be an entertaining infield.....lol

Jeter had range in the minors--Upton does not, which I know from first hand experience (watching him in AAA Durham).
