View Full Version : Opinions greatly appreciated on this dubious list of 20 pitchers

I've finally completed my all-time greatest southpaw list (235 through the 2005 season), along with a fairly impressive honorable mention list (112 others). However, there's still a short list of folks since 1900 who didn't fit in anywhere else, but I still felt they deserved at least a brief mention on my tribute page.

If you are so inclined, please help me pare down this list from 20 to 10-12. Unlike the all-time great list (Career Merit Value of 50 or greater (http://www.geocities.com/cjraleigh/criteria)), and the honorable mention list (Career Merit Value < 50, but threw a no-hitter, named an All-Star, or had 50 career wins/saves), there is no hard/fast criteria to evaluate these guys, just personal opinions. Basically, all of these guys had flashes of brilliance for 1-2 seasons before fading away. None are major league pitchers anymore.

Hopefully, we can have some fun taking a closer look at these otherwise "no-name" lefties. Of course, if you feel someone else warrants a mention, just list their name, and I'll let you know if they are already on another list.

Thanks so much,
Chris
